American Kennel Club Announces the 10 Most Popular Breeds of 2016

The Labrador Retriever continues to reign as the most-registered purebred dog with the American Kennel Club. All but three of the spots on the club’s annual top 10 list remained the same, with the Rottweiler, Poodle and Yorkshire Terrier trading places.

Other movers include the Russell Terrier, which jumped a 14 spots (from 104th to 90th), the Rat Terrier up five spots (101st to 96th), the Parson Russell Terrier rising two spots (111th to 109th) and the Dandie Dinmont Terrier up five spots (172nd to 167th).
