We Love This Video About a Man and His Dog Who Support Each Other Through Good Times and Bad

Pets are a ton of fun to have around in good times. They can be the life of the party, right? But it’s when hard times hit that we really rely on our furry friends.

Take Jody, a young man who had a near-death experience when he was in a horrible accident. When he finally made it home from the hospital, Jody was drifting in and out of consciousness, his head swollen, his body injured. He was in bad shape and emotionally shaken. But his dog, Levi, saw him through his rehabilitation.

In this three-minute “Dogumentary” by IAMS, we see Jody and Levi hiking, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors together. Yes, their story has a happy ending. Levi stayed by Jody’s side every day until he got better. Whether they were snuggling on the couch or simply just eating together, they enjoyed each other’s company much like any pup and pet parent. But then, a few months after Jody’s accident, Levi took a tumble. The vet put a pin in his leg so it wouldn’t have to be amputated. Jody was worried his dog might no longer be able to use the leg; he also didn’t know how he’d pay for the surgery. But he knew he had to be there for his dog, just as Levi was there for him.

When friends and friends of friends started hearing about Levi, they sent Jody checks to help pay the vet bills. Today, they’re both fully recovered and back on the trails. No doubt because they had each other to lean on through it all.
