I Can’t Believe These Products Are for Dogs!

I was recently in Las Vegas, one of this nation’s biggest hot spots (and yes, it was hot), for the annual SuperZoo Trade Show — put on by the World Pet Association. As I looked around at the more than 300,000 square feet of floor covered with booths packed with pet products, I knew I’d see some things I hadn’t seen before. What I found were dog products I would have expected to be at a human product trade show and others that were, shall we say, simply unique. Here are 12 standouts.

1. Gourmet birthday cakes and cupcakes by Bubba Roses Biscuit Company

These yummy treats made my mouth water until I figured out that they were NOT for me, but for Fido.

2. Buddy Pops by Majesty’s

Who doesn’t want a lollipop? Majesty’s made sure dogs could get in on the tongue fun with flavors like Lick-orice Lushes, Pawsitively Peanut Butter, Banana Barkers, Peppermint Breath, and Coconut Carob Crunchers.

3. Strap-on pet carrier by ZuGoPet

You know how parents walk around with their babies strapped to their fronts? Now your dog can hitch that ride, too, with this carrier.

4. PupUp Canopy by Caravan Canopy International

Your dog doesn’t have to share your tent on your next camping trip. He’s got his own digs.

5. Smear Campaign poop bags by Metro Paws

We all know this campaign season has been pretty bad. Metro Paws decided to clean up with these Smear Campaign poop bags.

6. Wooly Snuffle Mat by Paw5

Is it a feeder? Or a throw rug? Both. (Photo courtesy Paw5)

“Oh, what a lovely, modern throw rug,” you think. But hold up, it’s actually the Wooly Snuffle Mat by Paw5. Toss some kibble on the mat and your dog starts foraging. When he’s done, just shake it outside, and it looks like a beautiful throw rug again. (Machine washable too.)

7. Soothers toys and blankets by Ethical Products

So sweet, a baby would love these adorable soothing toys and blankets right? Well if he’s a fur baby, he will. These Soothers plush dog toys and dog blanket by Ethical Products aren’t just soft — they have a heart-shaped pouch of lavender infused beads to help calm fearful dogs.

8. Princess Dog Dress by Lavish Pets

OK, sometimes we all need a little help in the — you know — rear area. There are certainly products galore for humans. Now your dog’s tush gets his own with butt wipes made by two different companies: International Veterinary Sciences and Earthbath. You know you can never have enough of these.

11. Home Testing kit by Kit 4 Cat Veterinary Products
