We’re Obsessed With Pop Doggie’s Valentine’s Day Cards

Editor’s note: Have you seen the new Dogster print magazine in stores? Or in the waiting room of your vet’s office? This article appeared in our February/March issue. Subscribe to Dogster and get the bimonthly magazine delivered to your home.

I spotted these sweet Valentine’s Day cards at the Pop Doggie online shop at Etsy, created by designer Kari Egan. They are colorful, funny, and speak to the heart, whether furry or human. Pop Doggie also has magnets, mugs, dog bowls, and art prints. Kari’s illustrations of her own dog, Padden, gave way to this full-time job. Although Padden since has passed, she’s the dog on the Pop Doggie logo. Nowadays, dogs Suki and Zula and cat Callie are part of her fur family.

“They keep me company all day while I’m working and are endlessly entertaining and funny,” Kari said. “I talk to them like they’re people, and I’ll also voice their half of the conversation. Sometimes those sentences make it into my art. It’s also handy to have live models hanging around when I’m doing a new drawing.”

Pop Doggie also gives back. “My philosophy has been to donate locally, regionally, and nationally,” Kari said. So far, Pop Doggie’s total charity donations total more than $8,000.

Note: Pop Doggie ships in one to two business days, so order asap to get by Valentine’s Day.
